FAQs

How can a tutor benefit me?

Most universities in English-speaking countries consider grades earned in English class very important when making admissions decisions.

If you find English a bit tricky, you are not alone. The skills required in English classes can be challenging to do well. Getting extra help from a tutor can make a big difference.

Tutors help you with reading, writing, and understanding stories, plays, and poems.

Tutoring is like having a personal guide who knows how you learn best.

They make sure you get better at the assignments you find hard and help you feel more sure about your skills. This means you can join class discussions and do your assignments with more confidence.

Tutors also help you become a better writer. They show you how to write essays and stories in a way that makes sense and sounds good.

This skill is super useful for school and for success in university. This also helps you land a good job later on.

The major benefit of tutoring is that it’s not just about getting good grades. Tutors make reading and talking about stories fun. You get to explore different worlds through books and learn new things.

How much does tutoring cost?

My fee for all tutoring services is 650,000 VND per hour.

I kindly ask that the fee for a tutoring session be paid in advance.

I happily accept payments in cash, but fees can also be paid via PayPal.

Where will my tutoring sessions take place?

We can have our tutoring sessions:

  • in your home, with a parent present. (A parent doesn’t have to take part in the tutoring sessions, but should be at home when sessions take place.)
  •  in a public place, such as a coffee shop. (A parent doesn’t need to be present as long as you have permission to meet me at that location.)
How long is each tutoring session and how many sessions will I need?

The minimum amount of time for a tutoring session is 1 hour. We can often accomplish a lot in that time. However, 1.5 hours may be needed to meet your goals.

For TOEFL, IELTS, or SAT prep, I recomend sessions lasting at least 2 hours.

The number of sessions you will need will vary greatly depending on your needs and goals. Sometimes, only two or three sessions are needed. Other times, several months may be required. It really depends on what you would like to accomplish.

At our first session, you and I can discuss your goals and determine a good plan for your tutoring needs.

Can you guarantee results?

Tutoring can be very beneficial to you if you take the sessions seriously. The more effort you put in to your tutoring, the more successful you will be in reaching your goals.

With this in mind, no tutor can guarantee specific results, for example, grades on class assignments or scores on the TOEFL, the IELTS, or the SAT. Any tutor who makes such claims is presenting an unrealistic expectation that is not best for you.

However, you CAN be successful in improving your grades or performing better on tests if you are willing to put in the effort.
